Drink & Ski
I hate buying food and drink when I go skiing, since the lodges have a local monopoly and jack up the prices accordingly. Today, though, I caved, as I didn’t prepare in advance for my day trip to Stowe. To the left is a Stella Artois that cost $4.50. $4.50 for a plastic cup! Apparently, I could’ve gotten an actual pint glass to keep if I had ordered Trout River Rainbow Red Ale instead. However, I decided that it’d be safer for me to ski without a glass in my pocket. Can you imagine wiping out on a mogul and having the glass shatter in your jacket? Ouch!
Vermont also appears to have some rather interesting liquor laws. The one that struck me as most interesting (and ridiculous) is that establishments may only serve one alcoholic drink at a time. I see nothing wrong with double-fisting.
