Drinking & Cancer

Admittedly, this is a blog that champions the drinking of alcohol, possibly lots of it. However, I’m out here to warn you of the risks as well. After all, the best way to drink is responsibly.

CNN reports that alcohol consumption raises the risk of certain types of cancer. Don’t get freaked out quite yet, though! Alcohol consumption is also good for you. “Total avoidance of alcohol, although optimum for cancer control, cannot be recommended in terms of broad perspective of public health, in particular in countries with high incidence of cardiovascular disease,” writes Dr. Paolo Boffetta of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

Basically, my take on this is it’s pretty much the same as nearly everything else we consume in the world. Too much of anything will kill you. Too little of anything will also kill you. You need the Goldilocks solution where everything is just right.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
