Extreme Beer Fest 2006

Cisco TattooLast night was the 3rd annual Extreme Beer Fest. There was tons of great beer and food, and the venue was packed. There were thirty-three brewers there with over 100 extreme beers. I loved every beer I tried except for one, which was a really nasty one called “Cherry Spice”.

There were some notable brewers missing that had been present at previous beer fests such as Mercury and Hooker. The missing latter brewer was a real disappointment, because they always had “Caught with a Hooker” temporary tattoos that the owner would offer to put on as titty tats. However, we obviously managed to finagle a temporary tattoo from Cisco.

One very surprising brewer was Anheuser-Busch, the makers of Budweiser. You wouldn’t really expect them to make an appearance, considering the nature of their beers. However, they’re clearly trying to branch out from standard mass market beers to craft beers. I especially enjoyed their Wild Blue, which was a blueberry ale that tasted more like fresh berry juice than beer.

Tickets to these beer fests sell out earlier and earlier, so you might want to buy your American Beer Fest (June 17) tickets early! They go on sale next week.

Enjoy these few lame photos from the event (I have more but my friends probably don’t want their faces plastered all over this blog). Keep in mind that I was only 1/3 of the way back in the men’s restroom line. They really need to have more urinals for the next one!
