St. Patrick’s Day War Brewing
A rant in the Philadelphia Daily News lists all of the egregious happenings that are preventing God-given fun on St. Patrick’s Day:
- O’Reilly’s Bar & Grill in Saginaw, MI, will not serve green beer this year, becuase they’re afraid of offending their non-drinking patrons. This is just ridiculous.
- Greeters at Wal-Mart will no distribute stuffed cabbage instead of free holiday six-packs to customers. I didn’t even know that Wal-Mart sold beer.
- The annual performance of “One Hundred Bottles of Beer on the Wall” by fourth-graders in Dodgeville, WI, has been canceled. OK, this one I can understand. I don’t think adults should be encouraging nine-year-olds to sing about beer, even if it is a fun song. Do they really go through all one hundred beers? Geez.
- Civic do-gooders in Philadelphia, PA are urging beer drinkers to enjoy the holiday responsibly. If there exists a day, then I suppose St. Patrick’s Day would be the one on which you don’t drink beer responsibly.
Anyway, don’t let anyone prevent you from drinking on St. Patrick’s Day! (Drink responsibly.)
