American Beer at a Crossroads

In financial news, the CEO of Miller Brewing told bar owners today that the American beer industry is at a “critical crossroads”. Due to changing American tastes and worse marketing, companies like Miller and Anheuser-Busch need to work hard to overhaul their core brands and bring in new imports like Pilsner Urquell and Peroni. (Anheuser-Busch has announced that it will begin distributing Grolsch and Harbin.)

Can the major American beer companies do it? Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m personally investigating putting some of my investment funds in smaller breweries, wine, and liquor instead. However, if there’s anything that major corporations are good at, it’s definitely marketing and growing into even bigger corporations.

Also, in case you didn’t know, Miller’s actually owned by a British company.
