Wine Notes

These wine notes include a good listing of wine terms with definitions: balance, body, concentrated, finish, jammy, legs, residual sugar, round, tannin, and vintage. It also contains some choice quotes and factoids, one of which is rather dubious:

As cultivated fermentable crops, honey and grain are older than grapes, although neither mead (honey wine) nor beer has had anywhere near the social impact of wine over recorded time. Wine and history have greatly influenced one another.

Beer hasn’t had the social impact of wine? I’m not so sure about that. Heck, Hitler took a stab at a rather laughable revolution attempt at a beer hall, the beer hall putsch. On the brighter side, American revolutionaries met in Boston pubs. Few people are grousing over politics over glasses of wine.
