Making Nonalcoholic Beer

I can’t imagine a time when I’d ever want to do this, but as the author points out, “There are times when a beer sounds great, but a full-strength brew isn’t the right thing”. I guess I can buy that, so here’s his guide to making nonalcoholic (really low alcohol) beer.

Basically, pour the beer in a large pot and evaporate the alcohol in an oven at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Then, throw in yeast, sugar and water, since you just killed the yeast, you murderer! Last, bottle like usual. However, he forgets to mention that you’ll need to let the bottles sit around for a while to recarbonate the beer. An alternative is to skip the yeast and sugar and carbonate with air tanks like a draft beer.

Will this result in a good beer? I doubt it, but at least you won’t be raving drunk after drinking ten of them. You’ll just really have to use the restroom.

Why is American beer served cold? So you can tell it from urine.
