April Update

It’s almost the middle of April, and I just realized I haven’t posted my monthly update about the site. However, I think now’s the perfect time.

  • I’ve added some new blogs to the blogroll. They’ve been kind enough to link me, so the least I can do is write a bit about them:
    • The Bar Mix Master Has Spoken…: Unfortunately, he’s been busy recently. However, when he returns, I’m sure you’ll find a good supply of detailed posts about cocktails.
    • Boston Cocktails: Closer to my home base comes Boston Cocktails. This blog focuses on Boston and tends to feature specific liqueurs and cocktails along with pointers towards good deals.
    • The Bottom Shelf: Jeff writes about beer and wine from the point of view of a graduate student.
    • Cocktail Chronicles: Paul’s blog is one of the most established blogs in the cocktail blogosphere, and he writes frequently and in detail.
    • The Spirit World: Here’s another quality blog that focuses on cocktails. It’s frequently updated and a good read.
  • Inspired by Darcy and Paul’s posts, I’ve started the Carnival of Drinking. It is weekly, and we already have two editions scheduled for April 17 and 24. Please start your submissions!
  • I’ve added the ability to search the blog. Look on the lefthand side of the page for the form. Just type in your query (it can be Boolean) and hit the Enter key. I’m constantly improving the search results, though I may end up switching to Google eventually.

The next month should prove quite exciting for DTEIY, as I recently quit my job and will be working on my personal projects (including this site) full time. I have a slew of new features and updates planned, so keep on coming back!
