Britain Opens Self to “Worldwide Ridicule”

Food critic Egon Ronay recently said that Britain’s plans to put health warnings on alcohol would expose Britain to “worldwide ridicule”.

Really? In a country where drinks are seemingly no longer enjoyed but simply downed one after another, it seems that it could be necessary.

I almost hate to use the US as an example, considering my disagreement with certain international policies. However, I believe the Surgeon General has the right idea when requiring a minimum warning on alcohol combined with a statement of ABV. Consumers have a right to know the whole truth, not just the truth.

In this case, Egon, I think the world is laughing at you.
