Home Brewer to Professional Brew Master
I’m always interested in case studies of people who have managed to turn their hobbies into careers. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to figure out how to make millions from watching TV and drinking beer. However, perhaps a passion for home brewing could turn into a true career.
This guy, Vincent Pelosi has managed to turn his hobby of home brewing into being the brew master at Sarasota Brewing Co. in Florida. Although the article doesn’t say much about how he made the transition, it does say that he has a degree in biology, has a wife who hates beer, and knows exactly what his beer tastes like before he even makes it. He also now plays the mandolin as a hobby, since home brewing has become his career. All of this has also paid off, considering he’s winning medals at beer contests (and has a job to boot).
