North American Whiskey of the Year
Are you drinking the whiskey of the year? Actually, can you even find it? Have you heard of it?
Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey wins the North American Whiskey of the Year award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It’s one of Heaven Hill’s many brands, though it’s not heavily advertised or expensive. In fact, the only information I can find on their site is one simple paragraph (as opposed to whole websites devoted to some of their other brands).
This is especially exciting because rye whiskey has mostly been eclipsed by other whiskeys. It’s best summed up by Kirstin Jackson, the brand managers, comment, “This award properly affords rye whiskey the recognition it deserves, and is a tribute to the fact that things don’t necessarily have to be ‘new and improved’ to be judged the very best.”
