Beer for Menopausal Women
It appears that Czech brewers are working on a beer designed for women undergoing menopause.
The Prague-based Research Institute of Brewing and Malting (how do I get a job there?) is developing a low-calorie, low-alcohol beer that has phytoestrogen, a form of estrogen that’s often lacking in menopausal women. Phytoestrogen is already found in hops and barley malt, so all they have to do is somehow increase the levels.
They’ve reported good results from clinical trials with 20 women. Soon, you may be able to suggest beer as a remedy to women experiencing hot flashes.
