Breast Feeding = Responsible Drinking?

This study just strikes me as completely odd. How in the world did someone even think to investigate this relationship in the first place?

According to a study in Denmark, early weaning from breast-feeding appears to predisope adults to alcohol abuse. Those who were weaned by 1 month increased the likelihood of alcoholism by 65%. The group concluded that it was likely due to decreased physical and psychological contact between mother and child.

Go figure. If it gives you any insight, I was never breast-fed.

I wonder how this plays in to the mom’s that drink beer regularly while breast feeding because it increases lactation?

Dunno. I’ve never heard that one before, though. I do know that women who nurse do avoid certain foods, though, to prevent it from appearing in the milk.
