The Most Expensive Baiju Ever

A half-liter bottle of Wuliangye baijiu was recently sold for 880,000 yuan (~$108,508)! The baijiu had been stored for 90 years, and the vat itself had been used since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)! The highest grade of the stuff usually goes for about 26,800 yuan (~$3375).

That’s just amazing. I imagine that the baijiu must be extremely mellow and missing much of the sharp edge that’s usually present in this liquor. In case you know nothing of this liquor, head over to the Wikipedia article for a good introduction.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.
