History of Beer Pong
Crap! I knew I should’ve gone to Dartmouth. Why’d I turn them down?
It seems that Dartmouth College in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire is the official founder of beer pong. It began in the ’50s with someone likely putting his beer on a ping pong table during a match. Most interestingly, pong was more about sport and not about getting drunk. In fact, from the 1950s until the 1990s, pong only had two cups of beer per side. Now, of course, it’s more like a set of bowling pins.
Interestingly, the old style of pong reminds me of beer die, though the rules there are extremely detailed compared to version I’m used to playing.
