Glass Wine Closures
These Alcoa wine closures are pretty cool. Whitehall Lane Winery of Napa Valley recently became the first winery in the world to use the Alcoa Vino-Seal closure. It’s made of glass that has an inert o-ring to prevent contamination and oxidation. The Vino-Seal easily reseals and looks nice.
Alcoa also has a Vino-Lok in Europe, which uses an aluminum cover cap rather than the Vino-Seal’s tin capsule.
Personally, I’m looking forward to the days when corks will have been a forgotten thing of the past. I’ve had enough dealing with TCA, weak corks that break, etc., and I’m not even a prolific wine drinker!
