Glass Wine Closures

Alcoa Wine ClosureThese Alcoa wine closures are pretty cool. Whitehall Lane Winery of Napa Valley recently became the first winery in the world to use the Alcoa Vino-Seal closure. It’s made of glass that has an inert o-ring to prevent contamination and oxidation. The Vino-Seal easily reseals and looks nice.

Alcoa also has a Vino-Lok in Europe, which uses an aluminum cover cap rather than the Vino-Seal’s tin capsule.

Personally, I’m looking forward to the days when corks will have been a forgotten thing of the past. I’ve had enough dealing with TCA, weak corks that break, etc., and I’m not even a prolific wine drinker!

People who drink light 'beer' don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee alot.
