Champagne Chair
This very stylish chair measures no more than 4″ tall. It was designed by Krista Charles of Indianapolis, IN for the 2005 DWR Champagne Chair Contest. Check out the link for some really cool designs. It’s almost surprising to me that this chair in particular won, considering the creativity and complexity of the other entries. Plus, I’m wondering how comfortable this would be if it were lifesize.
There were more than 600 submissions for the 3rd annual contest requiring challengers to create a chair no larger than 4″x4″x4″ using nothing more than the wire, cork, and foil of two champagne bottles aside from glue. Also, check out the 2004 winning entries. Unfortunately, 2003’s entries don’t appear to be available. However, 2003’s rules are available and may give an idea for how to prepare for this year’s contest.
