More Drunken Monkeys

I suppose rhesus macaques aren’t the only drunken monkeys out there. Check out these lucky monkeys and apes at the Budapest Zoo who are given 55 liters (~14.5 gallons) of red wine each year to help boost their red blood cells. Red wine contains the antioxidant Resveratrol, which helps prevent the formation of blood clots. Of course, if that’s the only purpose, then why aren’t they just given aspirin? I think it’s just a convenient excuse to give monkeys booze for fun.

A woman drove me to drink and I didn't even have the decency to thank her.
