10 Commandments of Wine Tasting
So you’re going to drive around the countryside this weekend drinking your way through it Sideways-style. Well, don’t forget to follow the 10 commands of wine tasting:
- Thou shall have a designated driver.
- Thou shall be aware of your surroundings.
- Thou shall start with the whites, then proceed to the reds.
- Thou shall take thy sample and move away from the tasting table.
- Thou shall swallow with discretion; spit carefully into designated receptacle.
- Thou shall not make a meal out of the appetizers.
- Thou shall spend quality time with the wine and fellow tasters (unless they are violators of other commands and then you’re off the hook).
- Thou shall not put on airs.
- Thou shall not steal.
- Thou shall buy something (even if it’s just a hat).
