Poland’s (Quickly Diminishing) Vodka Lake

A malfunctioning distillery in Wielkopolska, Poland has turned Bracholinksie Lake into booze. In some places, the lake is as high as 60 proof! (Vodka is usually around 80 proof, so that’s a heck of a lot of alcohol.) The news of a vodka lake spurred locals to action by drinking as much of the lake as possible. “Local women are in despair and have turned to beg god to help save their husabands from the demon drink.”

Too bad there’s no picture or video. My imagination is rife with images of drunken aquatic creatures, birds, and farmers.
