Coffee Helps Prevent Cirrhosis

If you’re a regular drinker, then you might have resigned yourself to eventual cirrhosis of the liver. Even with moderate consumption, it can still happen.

However, a recent study shows that coffee may prevent cirrhosis and counteract alcohol’s effects. One cup of coffee a day cuts the risk by 20%, and four cups reduce the risk by 80%. Coffee drinkers also had healthier livers, and coffee may even reduce the risk of liver cancer. Although coffee appears to benefit everyone, the effect is especially apparent in heavy drinkers.

Haha! I’m not so sure that’s what they intended, but I think I’m about to pour myself some!
