American Gin

BluecoatGin has been losing the booze war against vodka for some time now, but that isn’t preventing Philadelphia Distilling from entering the market with Bluecoat, an American gin with an American taste profile.

Bluecoat, ironically named for Americans who fought the British, uses 100% organic botanicals and a softer Juniper berry. The gin has a soft citrus nose and a long, sharp finish. Philadelphia Distilling is producing it in smaller batches and calling it “craft distilling”. I’m guessing they’re trying to ride the cocktail wave and the craft beer wave at the same time.

    This stuff tastes amazing! Just the right amount of citrus. There’s already quite a buzz around Philadelphia and I expect it to make it’s way up the East Coast soon.

    Being a gin-lover, I’m dying to try this stuff. The stores in my area have begun stocking it, so I have no excuse other than my own laziness.
