June Update

It’s been a while now since I’ve written some sort of general update. I think my last one was in April. Much has changed in two months, so here we go:

  • First, thank you to everyone who has submitted stories. I’ve posted around 90% of them. The other neglected 10% is due to my horrible memory, procrastination, and organization skills—I’ve yet to receive a bad submission! Please keep them coming, and don’t feel slighted if I forget!
  • Second, I’ve added some new sites to the blogroll on the left. Please visit these quality blogs:
    • Cocktail Jen: About once a week or so, she tries a new cocktail from Mr. Boston. There’s great commentary along with other stuff.
    • Kaiser Penguin: Rick posts approximately weekly with new cocktail experiments. He has by far the best photographs of cocktails I’ve ever seen and thoroughly researches each drink.
    • The Martini Lounge: Yet another Rick runs this blog, which is probably the most similar to DTEIY. If I’d known about his blog, then I might have never started mine! However, I figure we each have our respective coasts, and the news only overlaps a bit.
  • On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I’ll be volunteering/attending American Beer Fest and the post-fest brunch. If I don’t post much over the next few days, it’s because I’m tired and drunk! If you’re anywhere in New England, then you shouldn’t even be reading this blog those few days anyway—you should be attending the fest. There are some tickets still available in physical locations, and I may even have one ticket available to resell for cheap. Although tickets are pricier now, you get unlimited tastings. If you’re at the fest, make sure to say hi. On Friday, I’ll be doing the meet & greet at the front. On Saturday, I’ll be pouring for Clipper City Brewery during the first session. During the second session, I’ll be drinking, err “tasting”. I’m the short Asian dude.
  • I’ve decided to kill the Carnival of Drinking. I’ve been admittedly lazy in getting participants, and the theme may have been too broad. For now, I’ll defer to Mixology Monday and Wine Blogging Wednesday. (Why is there no beer blog carnival?) If there’s enough interest, we can revive it in the future.
  • Some miscellaneous other developments include the Google search at top, which replaces the crappy search engine I wrote. Also, I’ve fixed a myriad bugs. I also have a couple cool features planned for the near future, so stay on the lookout for changing menu items this month or so.
  • Most importantly, my birthday’s next week. Don’t forget to buy me booze!

Why is American beer served cold? So you can tell it from urine.
