And a Bottle of Rum: A History of the New World in Ten Cocktails

A new book is about to be released, and The Boston Globe has a review of it. It looks like a promising read about rum’s role in history. Wayne Curtis, the author of the book, spent three years researching the subject and wrote this 294-page book detailing rum over the past 400 years.
From the review alone, I already picked up a number of interesting factoids, e.g., rum was symbolic of American colonists’ independence from Britain by not drinking gin and Paul Revere even had a swig of rum before his famous midnight ride.
Amazon says the book will be released tomorrow, and they have it at a great price, too.
