Meet Cabana Cachaca
Did you know that cachaca is the third most distilled spirit in the world? I sure didn’t. (Wikipedia says fourth behind vodka, rum, and soju.) Cachaca is rarely found outside of Brazil though, even in a place like Boston with a large Brazilian population.
However, Cabana Cachaca is attempting to change all that with its introduction to the US market. The classy Andrew Wolf-designed bottle contains twice-distilled cachaca, which they refer to as “artisanal rum”. Technically though, rum is made from molasses, whereas cachaca is made from sugarcane juice.
Anyway, I’m excited to perhaps see cachaca on store shelves. I do enjoy a well-made caipirinha, which is perhaps the most famous way to drink the spirit.
