The Third-Largest Wine Competition

I suppose growing up in Indiana did afford certain benefits, but it seems I was simply too young to enjoy them! The Indy International Wine Competition was revived fifteen years ago by the appropriately named Dr. Richard Vine, a professor emeritus of enology at Purdue University. A simple call in 1991 from the director of the State Fair gave rebirth to this event that became the third-largest in the country and one of the most highly regarded.

Purdue enology and food science students have been busy preparing since June, and a couple hundred judges and volunteers are descended on the state a couple days ago.

Winners will be promoted in Wine Business Monthly. Learn more about the fair itself at The Indy Star.
