Whom Can You Trust?

Tim Atkin at The Observer asks, “Should you trust a wine writer’s view?” He says yes, though of course, he’s biased as a wine writer, which he readily admits. However, should you trust the stuff on the bottle that says the wine is “quality”? Take that with a grain of salt. They’re just trying to sell you something, and it’s more than easy to lie with statistics.

This got me thinking: should you trust this blog? Well, if you’re in your mid-twenties and like to drink knowledgeably, yes. For everyone else, maybe. Then again, I’m biased. You of course need to take your own palate into consideration, too. My girlfriend, for example, certainly wouldn’t trust some of my opinions.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed - Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.
