Drinking Ethanol
Two Iowa State profs are attempting to make Iowa famous for more than whatever it is the state’s famous for now: they are creating potable alcohol from ethanol. Currently, it costs $0.50 more per gallon to convert ethanol, but they hope to reduce these costs to $0.01 per gallon. The results thus far have been positive. Apparently, it “tastes just like vodka”.
