Brown-Forman Buys Herradura

Last week, the makers of Jack Daniel’s announced that it would buy the Mexican tequila maker Herradura for $876 million. Herradura (if you’re American, choose “Estados Unidos” from the dropdown menu), El Jimador, and New Mix will soon be competing with Jose Cuervo and Sauza, which currently own most of the worldwide tequila market. As other booze bloggers have pointed out, this is a very big deal.
