Bracelets Monitor Drunk Drivers
Here’s yet another deterrent to drunk driving: SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor). Offend multiple times, and this bracelet gets strapped on you. It doesn’t appear to track where you are, but it does have the ability to monitor vapors from the skin, which monitors alcohol consumption 24 hours a day. The device then transmits the data to a monitoring center. The bracelet also includes anti-tampering devices, including a skin tone monitor to make sure you don’t pass it off to your multiethnic sober friends. The device is already in use in 37 different states, and hopefully, it can help prevent drunk driving.
