American Tequila Catador
Philip Soto Mares is the only certified tequila Catador in the United States. He received the title from La Academia Mexicana del Tequila in Guadalajara. Apparently, he’s the only person outside of Mexico who’s allowed to organize tastings and evaluate tequila, and he’s planning on opening a tequila academy of his own in San Marcos, CA, which is about 1.5 hours south of Los Angeles. He’s also hoping to sell his own line of tequila, which will run $55-150.
And now, I have a goal for next year. I bet I need to brush up on my Spanish, though.
