Gringos Locos at Crush Camp

Time Magazine has a great article about Crush Camp, which has become the new yuppie retreat. Diageo created Crush Camp two years ago, and oenophiles flush with money are lining up to pay $875 for the opportunity to pick grapes.

On the whole, it seems rather ridiculous considering that Mexican day laborers are paid peanuts to do the same job, but Crush Camp has more to it than just manual labor. Camp counselees also have the opportunity to learn about the winemaking process and, of course, to drink endlessly. It does sound like a fun experience, but I have to agree. They’re gringos locos.

Beer will always have a definite role in the diet of an individual and can be considered a cog in the wheel of nutritional foods.
