Milkscreen for Nursing Mothers

MilkscreenMilkscreen is a new product aimed at new mothers who breastfeed but still want some tipple before applying some nipple. Hey, I can understand. Newborns are stressful.

Milkscreen’s a simple pad that changes color if alcohol is present. Apparently, mothers can have an occasional drink, but they’re supposed to wait a few hours before breastfeeding.

I’ve got a nine week old screamer and have wanted more than one glass of wine on a couple of occasions (our anniversary being one). I know about the immature liver issue, however, so I’ve always felt guilty.
I, for one, am happy that this test exists. I use it, and I don’t have to feel guilty anymore about passing alcohol to my baby. I love that! All I have to do is reach for my frozen stash if the test shows a positive. It’s living my life while also making smart choices for my baby.

I’d forgotten that mothers usually keep frozen breast milk around. I suppose I wouldn’t really be all that familiar with that, though!

The difference between a drunk and a alcoholic is that a drunk doesn't have to attend all those meetings.
