Booze Compilation

Here are a bunch of links in no particular order that I found informative and interesting. I’d write about them separately but am at a loss for words at the moment:

  • Alcohol then and now: a brief history of alcohol starting in 10,000 BC to modern-day Georgia
  • Auld Enemy: Scottish distiller Andrew Currie of Isle of Arran commits treason by distilling a whisky south of the border in England—will Scots drink it or will they turn up their kilts Braveheart-style?
  • Colorectal Cancer Be-Gone: red wine may cut the risk of colorectal cancer—at the point, I should be the healthiest man alive!
  • Smell Like a Lush: I faintly recall writing about this or something similar before. A cologne based on Courvoisier (which I can never spell correctly) will be sold in both eau de toilette and eau de parfum form. If you thought that they were the same thing, then you’re not alone. Also, given the cost at $100 per 75ml bottle , it may be cheaper to just douse yourself in actual Courvoisier.
  • Be the German: a thought-provoking column published in all-exciting Nebraska on how Americans should learn lessons from German drinking culture

And there’s plenty more where that came from!

I drink too much. The last time I gave a urine sample it had an olive in it.
