India lacks a national drink, and The UB Group is attempting to change that with a new marketing campaign highlighting the drink feni (or fenny). It’s a traditional Goan drink made from coconuts or cashew apples. It’s drunk much like any other distilled liquor either neat, on the rocks, with a slice of lime, or mixed in cocktails (usually with tonic or lemonade). I have no idea where you might find it in the US (I’m especially curious now), but be on the lookout for brand names like Big Boss, Cashyo, and Reals.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed - Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.
