French Officially Become Lushes at Young Age
Welcome to France, the birthplace of French kissing, French fries, French cuffs, and French five-year-old oenophiles!
French politicians have recommended that children learn wine appreciation in primary school. In a country where children are usually given a small bit of wine diluted with water, this is hardly a surprising move. However, it seems that part of the move is to combat falling consumption of French wine. Once again, money triumphs.
Regardless of the reason, it sounds like a good idea to me. Give kids the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions, and when they become adults, they’ll hopefully make the right ones. Ever wonder why alcoholism doesn’t seem to be a problem there?

That is what I have said all my life. In the USA people act like its evil to drink and then a kid hits 21 and they just pour booze down their throat. They have no idea how to make decisions about it because no one ever taught them as youngsters. Its sad.
