I Need My Bud Light Faster!
Thanks to Turbo Tap, St. Paul’s XCel Energy Center is pouring beers for hockey fans four times faster than usual. See the news bit and read the article at WCCO’s site.
Bartenders put the tap against the bottom of the glass where a diffuser spreads the beer out at high pressure, reducing head. The Turbo Tap also uses nitrogen and carbon dioxide rather than just CO2 like most taps. Pints of beer can supposedly pour in just two seconds.
Not only is this great for that guy with no gag reflex, but the tap reduces waste by not giving head. Each keg produces about 90 cups of beer now, whereas they only produced 70 before. (I’m assuming these are small kegs, since the usual keg is 248 cups.)
