Being a bartender oftentimes seems impossible unless you’re young, female, and sexy. However, Cocktail Granny proves that the first requirement need not apply.
At the age of 60, Joy Perrine of Jack’s Lounge/Equus Restaurant in St. Matthews, KY has been tending bar for 40 years and is still going strong. She plans to retire at 66.
She’s a fifth-generation bartender and has won plenty of awards and created plenty of drink recipes. I think it’s pretty cool, and I hope I have that kind of vitality at that age.
