Alcohol May Help Brain Trauma
If your girlfriend’s been beating you upside the head too often, you may want to turn to drinking, as alcohol may have benefits for head trauma. This is not a joke.
A trauma surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre conducted a study finding a paradoxical correlation between alcohol and traumatic brain injuries. “Patients with a low to moderate blood alcohol concentration were less likely to die in-hospital than patients with no alcohol in their blood.” Don’t overdo it, though. Patients with high blood alcohol concentrations were more likely to die.
