Oh, Those Weird French (Laws)!

As the modern wine mecca, France has quite a complex system devised to regulate wine. But with any bureacracy with mounds of red tape, some juicy oddities have managed to slip through resulting in some very odd French wine laws.

My favorite is a law in the southern Rhone’s Chateauneuf-du-Pape region, which forbids UFOs from flying over vineyards. Seriously.
