Bud and Bud Are Buddies
In what has got to be a case influenced most by money than by anything else, Anheuser-Busch and Budejovicky Budvar have reached an historic accord where AB will import Budvar to the USA.
The two companies have had a longstanding feud, which most most recently epitomized by German anger over Budweiser being the official beer of the World Cup. Plus, the two companies are currently fighting one another in around 40 lawsuits worldwide, mostly to claim stakes to the Budweiser name.
By the way, if you want to drink Budvar in the USA, you’ll have to ask for Czechvar instead. This is one place where Budweiser will almost certainly always mean Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser.

Are any of the Buds worth drinking? Compared to handcrafted microbrews, none of that mass-produced swill has any flavor.
