Drinking for Free in Boston
The next time you’re bored, thirsty, and poor, consider trying out one of these places in Boston. They may be fairly obvious, but I’d never really thought to compile a list of them like Boston Gal’s Open Wallet. After you get your free drinks, try out some of the other recurring free things to do, too.
- Nashoba Valley Winery: 10AM - 5PM daily
- Harpoon Brewery: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 4PM, Friday 2PM & 4PM, Saturday 12PM, 2PM & 4PM
- Samuel Adams: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 2PM, Saturday 11AM - 2PM; tastings not guaranteed
I also know that Best Cellars has daily wine tastings, but I’m not sure when exactly they are. Maybe 4-8PM each day? I’ll try to remember to pay attention to the sign the next time I walk by the Boylston location.

Best Cellars has tastings every weeknight from 5-8pm (though there’s usually something open to try before that too). They also often do free food and wine events with restaurants and chefs if the afternoon on weekends.

Aha! Thanks for the info. I should’ve remembered to check while I was walking through Back Bay yesterday.
