Booze Makes Fruit Healthier

The next time someone catches you with a fruity cocktail in hand, just explain that you’re drinking it for health reasons.

Thai and American researchers report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture (always at the top of my reading list) that having strawberries with alcohol boosts their antioxidant properties. Nutritionists of course warn that the “detrimental effects” of booze could negate those benefits, though.
