If you’re flying into the Twin Cities May 11 or later, then be glad that you can bring wine with you. Muslim cabbies in Minnesota have been ordered to transport passengers with wine or else face fines.

Sidestepping the whole religion issue (and besides, what ever happened to freedom from religion in this country?), airport commissioners explain that it’s a customer service issue. Since most cab drivers are refusing to transport passengers with wine on religious grounds, it’s a real pain for anyone who happens to be carrying a bit of booze.

However, it’s only a small win for now. The issue will likely go to court soon.
