Barrington Brewery Goes Solar
Ooh, I’m always a fan of a good ol’ fashioned eco-friendly brew. Barrington Brewery located in Great Barrington here in the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts has gone solar powered. They recently bought a $55,000 solar panel and stuck it on the roof. It wasn’t just to save money in the long run, though. They truly are being friendly to the environment. Heck, they have carpeting made from recycled plastic.
Unfortunately, it’s a bit far away from Boston, and I’d feel a little bad driving out there just to have a beer. However, I’m definitely stopping by the next time I’m passing through western Massachusetts. Maybe it’s time for another trip out to the Finger Lakes.

I don’t know if I am the only one, but since you started back up again, the sponsors, which I think used to be on the left side of the page are superimposed over the entries. In order to read the entries, I have to cut and paste the whole page into word. Also, as I am writing this, the box that you enter text into goes off the right side of the page, and there is no lower scroll bar to see the other part. If it helps, I am running IE 6.0 on an XP SP2 machine, with screen resolution set at 1024 x 768. I hope you can get this fixed. I’ll keep reading, but it’s a pain. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip. I have a bad habit of forgetting to check if things work in IE! Definitely doing that today.

Steve-o, I’ve somewhat fixed the problem in IE 6. The lefthand column shouldn’t be all messed up, so the page is at least legible. Thank you so much for pointing this out to me. If possible though, I do recommend upgrading to IE 7.

Okay so I had no idea that Barrington Brewery was so eco-friendly! But it is one of the most delightful places I have ever stumbled across while vacationing in the Berkshires. We all ordered wooden boats with shoot glass-sized samples of their own brews and just couldn’t decide which beer flavor we liked the best! The ambiance was rustic but clean; the food was surprisingly wonderful and did I say we couldn’t get enough of those sampler boats! Even the house cat was close by outside to thank us. Eco-friendly is just another plus! Can someone please tell them to get a better website and advertise more! I want shares of that company!!
