Bulgarian Falls Short of World Record

A 57-year-old Bulgarian was recently picked up with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.835. He, however, falls short of a fellow 67-year-old countryman’s record of 0.914 back in January 2005.

For reference, the legal BAC for driving is 0.08 in MA (and most other states). 0.40 is a lethal dose for 50% of humans. Obviously, this guy is far on the right tail of the bell curve.

By the way, I’m a bit uncertain as to the actual numbers, as foreign countries report BAC differently, i.e. mg/mL rather than % vol. Either way, that’s really high!
