NERAX 2007

NERAX 2007 (New England Real Ale Exhibition) was on May 2-5. Since I was volunteering, I didn’t have much of a chance to take pictures, and I’ve been too ridiculously busy this past week to post any.

There were fifty cask-conditioned beers available at the beginning of Friday night, which is borderline crazy considering the difficulties of dealing with cask ale. After four-and-a-half hours, maybe half were left with the crowd booing every few minutes as another keg kicked. This was my first time at NERAX, and I’m now kicking myself for not having gone earlier. It’s a great event and a load of fun. And of course, they always need volunteers, so if you’re willing to exchange elbow grease for beer, then do be sure to contact them.

If you’re not familiar with cask ale, then definitely read up on it. Afterwards, head over to your nearest beer bar and demand to drink some, because you’re missing out on a great experience.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.
